I was approached by the client who introduced me to 47 square metres of space that was to be converted into a small but classy pick up pizza restaurant. This required a
fully functional kitchen and a descent sitting area for customers.
The main challenge was to work within a limited space whose functions or layout had to abide to the existing in-built systems like water, electricity, ventillation...
Aesthetically, my main approach was to demacate functional spaces with materials (eik wood ) . This created an interesting interior pattern with wooden cladding by the
seating areas and by the ceiling where the cladding pattern is a refection of the main circulation area on the foor.
The main colour concept was inspired by the need to draw and enhance nature into a small and busy space. This can be seen on all claddings with their natural wooden look
and the green that brings freshness to the space.

Metodistkirken på Bjølsen

Høst/2015

A need arised to visualise the planned renovations at the Metodisk Kirke På Bjølsen and i was aked to document and illustrate this using a physical model and diagrams .
The main idea was to create more multipurpose group rooms that could be used at the same time without interfering with other activities at the church.
I was requested to make some proporsals that would help to convert the existing gallery into a multiporpose space without interfering with the congregation on the first floor.
Since the gallery was open , my proporsal was to construct a sound insulated folding glass wall . This would still keep the visual experience to the alter , if there need be, and it would allow more activities to go on in parallel without any interferences.
In addition, the same glass wall can be opened to the first floor in case of concerts hence used as a sitting space .
In the main church hall, the old ,heavy and bulky wooden benches were to be replaced by chairs that coud be easilly piled up incase of cleaning and other activities.
Automatic roller curtains were to be installed in the high raised windows to prevent natural light incase of any light sensitive activities.
Due to limited finances, only a few of the approved proporsals were done during the first phase of the project.
The rest will be done in the near future.
